LE FEMME FATAL
OFFICAL RULES
• ALWAYS treat every and all firearms as if they are loaded.
• ALWAYS keep the muzzle (end of the barrel where the bullet exits) pointed downrange (toward the target).
• ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are pointed at your target and ready to shoot.
• ONLY shoot at YOUR designated target. Know your target and what is beyond and next to your target.
1. Teams must consist of 4 members.
2. League will run approximately 10 weeks plus a single elimination playoff and finals (for approx. 12 week total).
3. You must have at least 2 team members PLUS one alternate/ sub to shoot and be scored for the night. A forfeit will result without this minimum requirement.
4. If you are shooting with less than 4 members your opponent will choose whom they want to shoot twice for each game. Your opponent can choose this person after watching all members shoot. It is up to your opponent to watch while your team is shooting. Your team is not required to let the opponent examine the target after shooting has ceased. They must choose a different shooter to shoot twice for each game played.
5. If you miss a night, there are no make-ups to regain individual points.
6. Alternates will not be allowed to shoot during playoffs.
7. Teams competing against each other will be scored by the same scorer to ensure equal assessment of the targets.
8. Safety comes first! If at any time you are deemed unsafe you will be warned and possibly forfeited for the evening. Range Safety Officer decision will be final on the issue.
9. Understand the rules of each game before entering the range. The RSOs inside the range might not know exactly how a particular game is being scored. PLEASE pay attention when instructions to the games are given.
10. If you bring your own firearms, they must be unloaded, in a case/bag. DO NOT OPEN/HANDLE/LOAD YOUR FIREARMS UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD TO DO SO. The RSO may or will remove the firearm from the case/bag for you. Or ask the RSO first.
11. Firearms that are brought in, will be utilized as they are configured during League. This means double/single action firearms will be FULLY, and safely, decocked (not quarter/half cock) for the first shot. Firearms that are single action only will have the safety on once the firearm is loaded to have a round in the chamber.
12. Supplied League firearms cannot be used/rented for practicing the day of League.
13. For VTG supplied firearms, to eliminate the possibility of one gun being “better” than another, when a game uses two lanes competing 2 members of one team will shoot on one lane and the other 2 ladies will shoot on the other lane. This way both teams have 2 members each on both firearms being used during that competition.
14. Leaning on walls while shooting is prohibited.
15. Using the Bench for support while shooting is prohibited.
16. If you drop a round on the ground while reloading, consider it a lost round. You will not be allowed to pick it up.
17. Spotters and binoculars are allowed.
18. If you are not the shooter or the spotter, please stay against the back wall to ensure the RSO has plenty of space to keep the range safe.
19. If shooting a swinging or falling steel plate and your plate does not completely swing to the other side or fall, it will not count. The plate needs to be on the completely opposite lock, or hit the opposite side, from its original position. If it hits the other side and moves back to the original side, it will count.
20. While targets are being scored, you are not to be in the area where the targets are being scored and DO NOT interrupt the scorers. If you wish to see your target, you need to wait until the scorer(s) are done scoring all the targets they have in front of them and are done being recorded.
21. Ron will have final say on the close debated shots. Rips and tears from the bullet that go into the better scoring portion of the target do not count. The grease ring of the bullet is what is measured.
22. Do not approach the bench while the RSO is downrange. If you go up to the bench while RSOs are downrange, you will be disqualified for that night.
23. If there is a tie, teams will have 8 shots total with a different firearm selected that evening. Each member will get 2 shots at their own bullseye. If you have 3 shooters, two members will shoot 3 rounds at the bullseye. Your opponent gets to choose who only shoots 2 rounds.
24. Firearm malfunction/jams etc will be discussed how they will be treated before each game. If it is not discussed, you are responsible for clearing your own jam and continue if time permits. If it is 100% determined that it was a firearm issue (not an operator issue) a ruling in that moment will be made with every attempt to make it as fair as possible. If you bring your own firearm and ammo, it is up to you to clear your malfunction and get your firearm up and running to finish your stage.
25. Playoffs/Semi-finals/finals – Subs will be determined by Ron when the time comes and will notify the teams how the playoffs to finals will proceed.
26. If you bring your own firearm, you will be placed in the respective Division as based (loosely) by USPSA rules. 9mm firearms provided by Volusia Top Gun for the League are considered Carry Optics (CZ P-10F w/ Holosun), which will be the base/raw score. Depending how your firearm is configured, you may get a handicap and have points added to your raw score/time, or you may get a percentage deducted from your raw score/time. These scores/differences for different Divisions were determined by Ray and multiple staff members and previous ladies who shot on the league as well is several independent shooters.
• Lane fees for League participants will be half off during the duration of the League. Firearm rental (league guns only) fees will be waived for the League guns.
• If you are not familiar with how to handle the firearms, Private Lessons are available and are also half off for the duration of the League.
• Consumption of alcohol on the day of the League WILL NOT be tolerated. If a team member is found to be consuming alcohol in the restaurant, the team member will be kicked out of the League with no refund.
• It is highly recommended that you have at least 5 magazines per firearm platform. 3 to use for competition use and the other 2 to train with.
• Mark your magazines! Put your initials and number them to keep them separate from the store’s inventory or anyone else’s. This is just a good habit in general, that way if some type of malfunction occurs, you can ID the exact magazine.
